From The Chief: Chief Rohmer would like to remind all Ashland
residents to check their license expiration dates near their birthday since the
Mass RMV will no longer be sending out notices.

RE: (press release) Edward Byrne Memorial Justice
Assistance Grant (JAG)
The
Ashland Police Department is eligible for $13,054.00 under the Recovery Act:
Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant
(JAG) funding. The Ashland Police Department intends to use this funding to
supplement its Community Policing efforts. Some of the Ashland Police
Department Community Policing programs/activities include, police mountain
bike patrols in local parks, teaching internet safety classes to adults and
children, Citizens Police Academy, Neighborhood Officer Program and
professional development and specialized training for police officers. Due
to state budget cuts last October, the Ashland Police Department lost almost
$10,000 from its original Community Policing Grant.
The Ashland
Police Department must notify the community of the grant submission and
their intent to use the funds. Any comments or concerns should be directed
