Neighborhood Officer Program

In order to have a more diverse group within the police department participating with the outreach activities in the neighborhoods, a system of geographic responsibility has been established by Sgt. Greg Fawkes under the direction of Chief Scott C. Rohmer. The officers involved are assigned to each of the four neighborhoods (Neighborhood Officers). These officers are primarily responsible for much of the outreach and problem-solving activities in their neighborhood while continuing to answer calls to service throughout the Town of Ashland.

Meet Your Neighborhood Officer

 

Detective Sgt. Gregg Wildman (Neighborhood # 1)

Det. Sgt. Gregg Wildman has been with the APD since 2001. He is currently assigned as a Detective Sergeant in charge of the Detective Division.  Throughout his career Sgt. Wildman has been instrumental in developing several community oriented programs such as the “Stranger Danger Program”.  Sgt. Wildman has also currently been working with the residents of the Captain Eames Circle Complex for several months as an exclusive liaison.

 

 

 

Ofc. Ed Pomponio (Neighborhood # 2)

Ofc. Pomponio was hired by the APD in 2008. Since being hired he has taken a huge interest in community policiing. He is the departments child safety seat Officer. Officer Pomponio has organized community events, and has helped to establish new community based programs. He also founded the departments first Citizens Police Academy in 2008.

 

 

 

Ofc. Michael Dionne (Neighborhood # 3)

Officer Michael Dionne is a 4 year veteran of the APD and an employee of the town for the past 10 years.  Officer Dionne currently serves as one of the department Field Training Officers.  This program helps mold our new recruits and prepares them for the challenges of police work.  Officer Dionne is also a life long resident of Ashland and an Ashland High School graduate.  Officer Dionne has great pride in his community and has also been instrumental in developing the “Stranger Danger Program” along with Sgt. Wildman.

 

 

 

Ofc. Doug Grout (Neighborhood #4)

Officer Doug Grout has been with the APD for the past 1 ˝ years.  Officer Grout is a lifelong Ashland resident and a gradate of Ashland High School.  Officer Grout is a young officer with an unrivaled enthusiasm to perform his job.  Officer Grout has been involved in many community oriented programs since joining the force and is looking forward to his new role in this program.
