The Ashland Police Department currently has one Utility Terrain Vehicle, also known as UTV, in its fleet for off road patrol. Currently, all patrol division officers and supervisors are certified in operating the UTV. Officers use the UTV to patrol Ashland Woods, Ashland State park, Hopkinton State Park, and the new walking trails in Ashland. Most recently, the UTV has been deployed at the Boston Marathon and aiding the Ashland Fire Department in transporting injured walkers in the parks.
